Maeby's Blessing

On Thursday, April 4, Mabel Violet Thatcher

arrived.  She surprised us by arriving 15 days before her due date.  She weighed 5 pounds 11 ounces (4 ounces more than her big brother!) and was 17.5 inches long.  In the operating room and among the nurses over the next three days she fittingly earned the nickname "Peanut."  

We have waited so long to have little Maeby here with us and to hold and kiss her.  We are overjoyed that she is finally here, safe and sound.

  

 

Last night Josh called from the hospital to say goodnight to Henry.  During the conversation he was paged and had to get off the phone abruptly.  Here is the conversation Henry and I had in the minutes after hanging up with Dad.

Henry: Why did you hang up the phone?

Me: Because Daddy had to go help somebody.

Henry: Because somebody is sick?  Is it because Daddy is a Power Doctor?  I wish I could go to the hospital to see Daddy work on people he is sick of.

*PS- Only 6 more weeks until henry gets a sibling to share all these great insights with.
